How to center your low frequencies

How to center your low frequencies

All your low frequencies in your mix should have a mono instead of a stereo sound. This will result in a much cleaner bass for your kick and bassline. Tone Projects offers a great free tool for this problem, the TP Basslane. Put this VST plugin in your mastering channel, set it around 185 to 250 Hertz and it will center all your low frequencies below this value. It's very easy to handle, have a look here:

Check that the width button is set to the left side. This is a great simple mastering plugin, that will clean up the low end of your mix. When I switch Basslane on, I can feel immediately a more powerful kick on my monitor speakers.
